Keep whales Out of Captivity
Monthly Archives: January 2012
the elders have sent me to tell you….
Just added a quote I found recently, can’t remember where right now. I put it at the top of my blog so I would see it everyday. I need to remember this. I tend to be somewhat chicken-hearted, but am trying to overcome this tendency.
More office buddies. Hard to believe this is a place of business, isn’t it?
looong day
First week of classes for the spring semester-really busy. I was so glad to walk out of my office and head home. I’ve been working for a couple of hours every nite lately on my “web presence”. Tonight I’m taking a break to spend some time with my husband and the poodles. Hard to stay off the laptop though-I’m having so much fun with my new project. However, I am beginning to see that keeping up with all the social media is like having a 2nd almost full time job! Found some interesting people to follow on Twitter today.
Here is a pic of my office mates at work. Actually I made these puppets sometime ago for a class I was taking. Now they keep me company at work.
This and That
Spent some time today updating this blog, finally got my facebook page and twitter listed. Trying to develop my online presence and get my artwork online. I’m going to turn this blog into a webpage, with a link to the blog. I’ve got a long way to go!
A few pictures taken this summer on a photoshoot on Assateague Island and at Ocean City. The amusement park was closed for the season and the day was overcast. Perfect for taking pictures. These pics were taken with my iphone 4 and edited with my ipad.
Another Dream Image
This painting is probably about 2 weeks from being finished. I think the water will be my biggest challenge. I haven’t had any more dreams that would work for a painting recently, and I’m ready to move on to a new idea anyway.
I want to get together a body of work and start submitting work to galleries. I’ve put this off for way too many years. In order to get some inspiration, I’ve signed up for an online painting class. It runs for 6 weeks, the artist teaching the class is Flora Bowley. I found out about her from Teesha Moore. I have attended Teesha’s workshops (Artfest, Journalfest) in Port Townsend, WA for more than 10 years. She will be teaching in England with Flora Bowley and others at a workshop called Call of the Wild Soul.
Guess I’m going to have to go back and study word press some more! I can’t get this post to look like I want it to. Thinking of changing the template too.
My Latest Painting
This painting is from a dream I had about a year ago. It’s the first painting I’ve done in about 15 years. I have been wanting to get back to painting, have been distracted by bookmaking, iphone photography, hot glass, and many other mediums. I would prefer to work in oils, but don’t really have a place to do it right now.
Medium: Acrylic
